The only difference between now and the revolution characterized by grunge music 20 years ago is that grunge music was never supposed to exist. We felt that the system was full of itself. We spouted the same rhetoric that a lot of these financial pundits do on their blogs today. Kurt Cobain and Nirvana found a way to do what American citizens do comfortably from their armchairs in a major way, and forever changed rock music.
That was until grunge was homogenized and teen agnst became the problem that it sought to rebel against. There were so many grunge bands and alternative music became so popular that it wasn’t so alternative anymore, and it wasn’t the dirty, foul, did not wash my backside music that it once portrayed itself as being.
